What a difference a day makes. It’s day two at Royal Troon, the sun has disappeared and rain is sweeping across the Irish Sea towards Ayrshire. The wind has switched from Northwest to Southeast bringing a dramatic changed to the golf course.
Yesterday, seven of the hardest ranked holes were on the back nine. The question is: will they play easier today? They will certainly play shorter but with winds predicted to gust up to 25mph this afternoon they are unlikely to be easier.
With the weather expected to deteriorate this afternoon the tee and pin position are fair for the day. Rain is expected imminently but unlike amateurs the professionals tend to cope quite well. It will soften up the greens and of course it certainly helps to have a caddy.
