It’s a tour that began in Atlanta on March 18th 2012 six weeks after the release of the Wrecking Ball album. Seventeen months later it is still going and showing no signs of slowing down. The band have toured Europe twice in under a year and have added more South American dates later this year as well as a whole new tour set in Australia at the start of 2014.
It truly has caught the appeal of the World. The Boss and his band are on an unofficial world tour which has strangely deserted the United States for over a year now. Spanning 4 Continents, 26 Countries, 159 concerts with a total show time over 500 Hours. It has become a machine selling 3.5 million tickets: his most successful tour ever. 98% of all tickets available were sold generating a staggering $368 million. The tour has featured over 215 different songs and a performance in Helsinki lasted a record 4 hours and 6 minutes.
Bruce Springsteen’s first album in three years claimed great accolades and rumours are spreading a new album is in the pipeline for next year. The question now is: Is the Wrecking Ball tour the start of a continuous World tour? Something his adoring fans would love.
